Angola’s NVS Targets Green Methanol Production for Multiple Sectors

Angola-based NVS Energy Industria Lda plans to supply up to 20,000 metric tons of methanol annually to industries including oil and gas, marine, road transport, and agricultural machinery services. The company is developing a project to produce green methanol through carbon dioxide capture, starting with emissions from crude oil separation and natural gas production facilities in Africa, with initial operations in Angola. Future phases are expected to include capturing CO2 from train emissions along the Lobito Corridor and from livestock farms. The Methanol Institute has confirmed NVS Energy Industria Lda as a new member. According to the Institute, the company’s initiatives align with ongoing efforts to expand the use of alternative fuels globally.
