GreenLine Partners with Dabur India to Expand LNG-Powered Freight Transport

GreenLine Mobility Solutions Ltd, an Essar venture specialising in LNG- and electric-powered heavy commercial vehicles, has partnered with Dabur India Ltd to introduce LNG-powered trucks into the FMCG company’s road logistics network, supporting efforts to reduce emissions from long-haul freight operations.

The collaboration reflects the growing adoption of lower-emission transportation solutions by Indian businesses as they work to decarbonise supply chains while maintaining logistics efficiency.

LNG Trucks to Support Dabur’s Logistics Network

Under the agreement, GreenLine will deploy its fleet of LNG-powered heavy-duty trucks across Dabur India’s logistics operations.

The trucks are expected to help lower greenhouse gas emissions associated with long-distance road freight without compromising operational reliability or delivery performance.

The partnership aligns with Dabur India’s broader sustainability strategy, which includes reducing the environmental impact of its supply chain.

Growing Momentum for Low-Emission Freight

The collaboration comes as Indian companies increasingly integrate cleaner transport solutions into their logistics operations to support corporate decarbonisation goals.

He added that expanding the use of cleaner commercial vehicles is an important step towards transforming India’s road logistics ecosystem and accelerating the transition to sustainable freight transport.

Supporting Sustainable Supply Chains

Samrat Sehgal, Global Director of Supply Chain at Dabur India, said reducing supply chain emissions remains a key component of the company’s sustainability roadmap.

He noted that integrating LNG-powered transport into Dabur’s logistics operations enables the company to reduce its environmental footprint while maintaining operational efficiency and reliability.

Expanding India’s Green Freight Network

GreenLine said it currently operates more than 1,000 LNG- and electric-powered heavy commercial vehicles across India’s major freight corridors, serving industries including:

• FMCG
• Steel
• Cement
• Mining
• Chemicals

According to the company, its fleet has travelled more than 100 million kilometres, helping customers collectively reduce over 27,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions.

The company deploys LNG-powered trucks for long-haul transportation and electric trucks for shorter routes, providing lower-emission logistics solutions across different freight applications.

To support the expansion of LNG-powered transport, GreenLine’s subsidiary Ultra Gas and Energy Ltd is also developing a nationwide network of LNG refuelling stations across India.
