GTT Marine, a business unit of the GTT Group, has entered into a white-label integration partnership with FuelEU Maritime compliance platform and marketplace provider BetterSea to enable shipping companies to manage trading and pooling activities directly through its Vesper Insights platform.
Under the agreement, GTT Marine will integrate BetterSea’s FuelEU infrastructure into Vesper Insights, allowing customers and platform users to assess compliance options, execute FuelEU transactions and manage related post-trade processes from within the existing platform.
FuelEU Trading and Pooling Added to Vesper Insights
The integration will provide Vesper Insights users with access to BetterSea’s FuelEU marketplace, simulation tools, pooling functionality and post-trade workflows. It will also include Thetis reporting capabilities designed to support compliance processes.
The simulation tools allow users to compare different compliance pathways under applicable regulations and assess potential cost exposure. The integrated platform will also support pooling, pool tracking and post-trade activities through standardised legal and financial structures.
The companies said the integration is intended to provide a single workflow covering FuelEU compliance assessment, trading, pooling and reporting as the regulation moves into its operational phase.
Maximilian Schroer, Co-CEO of BetterSea, said the partnership with GTT Marine marks an important step in the company’s mission to make FuelEU compliance and pooling easier to access and execute, while underlining BetterSea’s position as the market-leading FuelEU marketplace. He said embedding the platform into GTT Marine’s Vesper Insights offering gives customers a seamless path from compliance understanding to full trading and pooling execution, within an environment they already know and use.
Integrated Compliance Workflow for Shipowners
FuelEU Maritime creates requirements for ships operating in European waters to reduce the greenhouse gas intensity of energy used on board. As shipping companies manage compliance exposure, the ability to evaluate different options and execute transactions has become an increasingly important part of the compliance process.
Through the partnership, Vesper Insights users will be able to access BetterSea’s FuelEU marketplace without leaving the GTT Marine platform. The companies said this will connect vessel performance and compliance information with the tools required to execute FuelEU trading and pooling.
Christian Treu, VP Revenue at GTT Marine, said the company is committed to equipping customers with practical and high-value solutions for the decarbonisation transition, adding that through the partnership with BetterSea, GTT Marine can offer users direct access to a complete FuelEU execution framework, from simulation to trading, pooling and reporting, directly via its platform.
