“Hydrotug,” developed by a division of the Belgian shipping company Compagnie Maritime Belge (CMB.TECH) is expected to be operational from 2023 onwards. The tugboat will have width of 12 metres and length of 30 metres. It can store 415 kilograms of compressed hydrogen, eliminating emissions equivalent to 350 cars.
The Port of Antwerp-Bruges will be the first in the world to start using this tugboat.
The tugboat features two BeHydro V12 dual fuel medium speed engines. It can run on hydrogen and traditional fuel.
