Everllence has expanded its PrimeServ Academy at its Augsburg facility in Germany, increasing training capacity to meet growing demand for skills development in alternative fuel engines, digital technologies and after-sales services.
The expansion increases the academy’s floor space from approximately 1,700 square metres to 3,000 square metres following an investment of €6.5 million. The upgraded facility was officially inaugurated during Everllence’s annual Technology Fair, which brought together around 50 participants.
Expanded Training Facility Targets Alternative Fuel Technologies
The PrimeServ Academy serves as Everllence’s global training hub for large and medium-speed engines, turbochargers and after-sales services. Around 1,500 participants attend training programmes at the facility each year, with attendees equally split between customers and employees from the company’s global PrimeServ network.
The latest expansion reflects increasing demand for technical training driven by advances in engine technology, automation systems, fuel injection systems and turbochargers, alongside the growing adoption of low-carbon marine fuels.
The upgraded academy places particular emphasis on engines operating on green methanol and green methane, supporting customers preparing for the maritime industry’s transition toward lower-carbon propulsion technologies.
New Facilities Increase Training Capacity
As part of the project, Everllence added a larger workshop, four new classrooms and a dedicated space for online training programmes, allowing the company to expand both practical and digital learning.
The project also included the renovation of an adjacent building dating back to 1888, which has been converted into additional training facilities following approximately 18 months of refurbishment.
According to the company, the expansion enables it to provide training for both next-generation propulsion technologies and existing engine installations that remain in operation worldwide.
Uwe Lauber, CEO of Everllence, said: “With the expansion of this PrimeServ Academy, we are investing 6.5 million euros in the future of the site and strengthening Augsburg as a key training center for our customers and employees from the global, PrimeServ after-sales organization.”
Holger Gehring, Head of PrimeServ Academy Augsburg, added: “The extended PrimeServ Academy now also places a special focus on our expanded engine portfolio, which is increasingly shifting toward climate-neutral fuels such as green methanol and methane. New fuels bring new challenges for our customers. We support them, not just with our future-oriented technologies but also by working closely with them throughout our engines’ entire lifecycles with tailored training.”
