India-based renewable project developer Hero Future Energies (HFE) has partnered with green hydrogen firm Ohmium International to build 1GW of green hydrogen production capacity in India, Europe and the UK.
HFE has experience in developing solar, wind and hybrid battery energy storage system projects, while Ohmium designs and manufactures polymer electrolyte membrane electrolysers.
Hero Future Energies Global CEO Srivatsan Iyer said: “We are very pleased to partner with Ohmium – their patented electrolyser technology enables them to design and construct hydrogen production facilities faster and more efficiently than anyone else.
“By coupling Ohmium’s hydrogen expertise with HFE’s knowledge and experience as a Renewable Energy developer, we will meet and perhaps even exceed our ambitious target of 1,000MW.”
Under the partnership, Ohmium will design, build and provide operations and maintenance services for the hydrogen production facilities.
HFE will own the facilities and serve as the build–operate–own partner, being responsible for generating renewable energy to power the hydrogen assets.
Ohmium International CEO Arne Ballantine said: “This giga-scale effort between Hero Future Energies and Ohmium is going to advance the global Green Hydrogen landscape.
