NatPower Marine, the maritime division of NatPower Group, has signed a strategic agreement to acquire the Aqua superPower international electric boat charging network from ATV Power, strengthening its position in the marine electrification sector and expanding its global charging infrastructure footprint.
The acquisition brings the world’s largest international electric charging network for boats and yachts into NatPower Marine’s portfolio, supporting the company’s plans to scale electrification beyond recreational boating into commercial ports and maritime hubs.
Acquisition Expands Global Marine Charging Network
Aqua superPower currently operates a network of more than 80 charging locations across ports and marinas in Europe and North America. The network spans key maritime destinations, including the French and Italian Rivieras, Venice, Trieste, Genoa, Lake Maggiore, Lake Geneva, Sweden, the Port of Barcelona, the UK’s south coast, San Francisco Bay, Lake Tahoe, San Diego and Lake Michigan.
NatPower Marine said the acquisition will integrate Aqua superPower’s operational expertise and charging infrastructure into its broader energy platform, enabling the coordinated deployment of marine electrification projects across multiple international markets.
Focus on Scalable Maritime Electrification
The company said the transaction is designed to address one of the biggest challenges facing maritime electrification—coordinating energy supply, grid access, permitting, financing, engineering and operational management into a single execution model.
By combining Aqua superPower’s existing charging network with NatPower Marine’s infrastructure development capabilities, the integrated platform aims to accelerate the deployment of charging infrastructure for both recreational and commercial maritime applications.
The combined platform will include an operational charging network, a pipeline of port and marina projects, access to investment capital and a coordinated development and delivery model.
Executives Highlight International Expansion
Fabrizio Zago, CEO of NatPower, said:
“This transaction marks a decisive step forward for us: we are no longer just developing infrastructure, but building a platform capable of operating on an international scale. The addition of Aqua superPower to our ecosystem provides us with an immediate operational presence in key markets and strengthens our ability to deliver projects effectively and at scale on a global level.”
Stewart Wilkinson, CEO of ATV Power, added:
“Joining NatPower Marine enables us to scale our platform faster and extend our reach, building on the network we have already developed.”
Agreement Presented at Monaco Energy Boat Challenge
The acquisition was formally presented during the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge (MEBC), an international event focused on sustainable marine technologies and energy solutions.
As part of the event, NatPower Marine participated in discussions on maritime energy transition and conducted a live hydrogen refuelling demonstration, highlighting its strategy of integrating multiple clean energy technologies within a unified infrastructure platform.
Aqua superPower also supported the event for the fourth consecutive year by supplying charging infrastructure through its floating E-Dock, providing both AC and DC charging for electric boats.
The Yacht Club de Monaco, which installed the world’s first Aqua fast charger in 2019, continues to serve as a demonstration site for electric marine charging technology.
