Tyczka Hydrogen acquires 5 MW green hydrogen hub in Germany

Germany-based Tyczka Hydrogen has acquired an operational hydrogen hub at the Hessisches Kegelspiel logistics park in Hesse from renewable energy developer ABO Energy GmbH & Co KGaA.

The acquisition adds a green hydrogen production facility with 5 MW of electrolyser capacity to Tyczka Hydrogen’s portfolio.

Hydrogen production and refuelling infrastructure

The facility uses a PEM electrolyser capable of producing between 400 and 600 tonnes of hydrogen annually.

The transaction also includes a trailer filling station and a public 350-bar hydrogen refuelling station located at the site.

Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.

According to Tyczka Hydrogen, the investment expands its hydrogen refuelling station network and supports the supply of RFNBO-certified green hydrogen.

Operational since 2025

The hydrogen hub has been operational since 2025 and received certification for RFNBO hydrogen production under the CertifHy EU RFNBO Voluntary Scheme on 1 July 2025.

The hydrogen produced at the facility is supplied directly to vehicles using the on-site refuelling station and transported by trailer to customers.

Tyczka Hydrogen had already been among the customers supplied from the site before completing the acquisition.

The transaction adds both hydrogen production capacity and associated distribution and refuelling infrastructure to Tyczka Hydrogen’s existing operations in Germany.
