Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has consolidated the liquefied natural gas (LNG) marketing activities of ADNOC Gas, XRG, and ADNOC Trading into a single integrated commercial platform, creating a global LNG marketing and trading hub based in Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM).
The new platform is designed to strengthen ADNOC’s global LNG business by integrating marketing, trading and shipping capabilities while supporting the company’s expanding LNG portfolio and international growth strategy.
Integrated Platform to Support Expanding LNG Portfolio
The consolidated platform will manage the combined equity LNG portfolios of ADNOC Gas and XRG, while leveraging ADNOC Trading’s expertise in LNG marketing, trading and shipping.
According to ADNOC, the integrated model will enhance commercial flexibility, optimize shipping operations and improve customer access as the company expands its LNG production capacity, including volumes from the upcoming Ruwais LNG project.
The company expects the platform to manage a combined 47 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of marketable LNG by 2035, positioning it among the world’s major LNG marketers.
Leadership Appointment to Oversee LNG Marketing
As part of the restructuring, Rashid Al Mazrouei has been appointed Chief Marketing & Origination Officer (LNG).
He will oversee long-term LNG marketing for the combined portfolios of ADNOC Gas and XRG, working alongside ADNOC Trading, which will continue to serve as the counterparty for LNG trading activities.
ADNOC said existing commercial arrangements with customers will remain unchanged despite the integration.
Platform Supports Global LNG Demand Growth
ADNOC believes the integrated commercial platform will improve its ability to manage a larger and more diversified LNG portfolio as global demand for natural gas continues to increase.
Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, ADNOC Managing Director and Group CEO, and Executive Chairman of XRG, said:
“With LNG demand set to grow substantially, the world will need reliable, responsible and trusted suppliers at scale. This world-class, integrated commercial LNG platform brings together the full strength of ADNOC’s marketing, trading and shipping capabilities to create a single global hub in Abu Dhabi.”
He added:
“It marks a step-change in scale, flexibility and optionality of our LNG marketing and trading platform and will further position ADNOC to meet the world’s growing demand for energy.”
Shipping Fleet Expansion Supports LNG Growth
ADNOC highlighted shipping as a key component of the new commercial platform.
According to the company, ADNOC Trading’s LNG shipping desk ranked among the world’s leading LNG charterers in both physical shipping and freight derivatives during 2025.
Meanwhile, ADNOC Logistics & Services (ADNOC L&S) has expanded its owned LNG fleet to 20 vessels, including 14 modern two-stroke LNG carriers, supporting the UAE’s growing LNG production capacity and international trade.
ADNOC Gas, which has supplied LNG since 1977, has delivered more than 3,500 LNG cargoes globally.
